Travel essentials

Visa & Entry
ESTA required for Visa Waiver Program countries ($21, apply online at least 72 hours before travel). Citizens of non-waiver countries need a B1/B2 visitor visa, which can take weeks to process. Apply well ahead of the tournament as demand will be high.
No visa required for most nationalities for stays under 180 days. You will receive a tourist permit (FMM) on arrival or online before departure. If attending matches in both Mexico and the US, you need separate entry authorization for each country.
eTA required for visa-exempt nationals ($7 CAD, apply online). Citizens of countries that need a full visa should apply early. Processing is usually fast but can slow during major events. An eTA is linked to your passport and valid for 5 years.
Currency & Costs
US Dollar (USD). Credit and debit cards accepted virtually everywhere. Tipping is expected: 18-20% at restaurants, $1-2 per drink at bars. Budget $15-25 per meal at casual restaurants, $8-15 for fast food. Stadium food and drinks are significantly more expensive.
Mexican Peso (MXN). US dollars widely accepted in tourist areas but you will get better rates paying in pesos. Tipping 10-15% is customary. Meals cost $5-10 at local restaurants, making Mexico the most budget-friendly host country. ATMs are widely available.
Canadian Dollar (CAD). Cards accepted everywhere including contactless. Tipping 15-20% at restaurants. Expect similar prices to the US: $15-25 per meal. Note that Canadian prices do not include tax on displayed prices, so your bill will be 13-15% higher than the menu price.
Weather (June-July)
Varies widely by city. Southern cities (Miami 32°C, Houston 35°C, Dallas 36°C) are hot and humid. West Coast (LA 25°C, San Francisco 18°C, Seattle 22°C) is milder and drier. East Coast (New York 29°C, Philadelphia 30°C, Boston 27°C) is warm and humid. Pack sunscreen, a hat, and stay hydrated at outdoor stadiums.
Rainy season begins in June. Mexico City sits at 2,200m altitude so temperatures are moderate (25°C daytime) but evenings cool down significantly. Pack layers and a rain jacket. Guadalajara and Monterrey are hotter (30-33°C) and more humid. Afternoon thunderstorms are common but usually brief.
The best weather of the year. Toronto averages 26°C with occasional humidity. Vancouver averages 22°C with long daylight hours (up to 16 hours) and low rainfall. Both cities are comfortable for outdoor events. Light layers for evening matches are recommended.

Type A/B plugs, 127V (same as US). Spanish is the primary language but English is widely spoken in tourist areas and around stadiums. Uber and DiDi work well in all three host cities. Buy a local SIM from Telcel or AT&T Mexico at the airport for affordable data and calls.
Type A/B plugs, 120V (same as US). English in Toronto, English/French in Vancouver. Uber operates in both cities. Public transit is reliable: Toronto TTC and Vancouver SkyTrain both connect to their stadiums. Canadian mobile plans are expensive so consider an eSIM or prepaid option for visitors.
